Leslie Hook is San Francisco Correspondent for the Financial Times and a columnist for FT Magazine. She writes about technology with a particular focus on transportation and cities, and companies like Uber and Amazon.
Since joining the Financial Times in 2010, she has been Beijing Correspondent, covering energy and the environment, and a Lex columnist, covering public tech companies.
She was a fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University during the 2013-2014 academic year, and a recipient of the FT’s Jones-Mauthner Memorial Prize (runner-up) in 2017.
Previously she was at The Wall Street Journal and the Far Eastern Economic Review.
